Hope, Faith, Life, Love

Our Spring concerts are just a few weeks away! As a meditation on each of these themes, several songs will be explored that bring us all in greater connection with what Hope, Faith, Life, and Love truly mean, how they feel, and how they can impact us all as individuals.

With selections by Whitacre, Nystedt, Esenvalds, Hagen, Paulus, and the Motion Picture Frozen, as well as World Premiers by Senko, Rudoi, and Johnson, we hope to provide you a time of introspection and enjoyment around the theme.

Ave Verum Corpus Clinic

This Tuesday, in preparation for our upcoming concerts, we had a ‘clinic’ with Paul Rudoi to work on a piece of his that we will be performing, Ave Verum Corpus. Our rehearsal was full of laughs and learning, huge part in thanks to Paul!

We spent a lot of time focusing on the chords that solidified the first beat of every measure, remembering how they felt and sounded, what it felt like to be connected to them, and how to drive the phrasing of the piece toward those moments. This really seemed to help us connect and unify as a choir, and ultimately allowed us to make a significant amount of artistic progress. Ave Verum Corpus will truly be a gem and a joy to perform and we are so looking forward to Paul’s presence there.

Huge thanks!

Remember, our first concert will be on Saturday, November 8th at 3 PM at the Church of St. Austin in Minneapolis, MN.

Please attend! The concert is free to the public (free-will donations accepted).
